A Year of Growth and Reflection for EHD
As 2025 draws to a close, it's time to reflect on the remarkable journey we undertook at Emily Henderson Design (EHD). Marking the 15th anniversary of the blog, this year has been a tapestry woven with hard work, joy, and personal milestones that I could only dream of. For those of you who have been with me through the years, it’s almost hard to believe the depth of our shared experiences. We've journeyed together through wins, challenges, and the everyday joys of home and design.
Our Expanding Team and Achievements
This year was particularly gratifying for our team, which is now comprised of dedicated professionals who push the creative boundaries every day. We witnessed significant growth, both in our project reveals and in the depth of our content. With a record number of reveals—forty, to be precise—our workflow has fallen into a satisfying rhythm. Adding a social media manager, Marlee, was a turning point that enhanced our capacity to engage effectively across various platforms.
The Creative Journey: From Concepts to Reality
One of the exciting undertakings was the launch of our Room Service sofa line, encapsulating the essence of our design philosophy. Organizing the shoot presented a whirlwind of challenges, but the results were stunning, thanks in large part to our amazing producer Gretchen. The shift of manufacturing from Mexico to Texas was another leap towards ensuring faster delivery and quality assurance. I felt proud knowing our products were crafted right here in America.
Emotional Connections Through Design
Designing spaces for friends and family has been particularly fulfilling this year. Helping my best friends, Robyn and Nicole, redesign their homes allowed me to blend work with cherished personal connections. Creating beautiful environments for them not only enhanced their spaces, but also deepened our relationships. Standing in their newly styled rooms elicited a sense of satisfaction that goes beyond aesthetics.
Facing Challenges and Embracing Change
This year also had its share of challenges. Navigating the cancellation of our rug line and the technical hurdles of being hacked forced me to rethink our strategies and prioritize security. However, these moments of adversity become opportunities for growth and reflection. They remind me how critical it is to remain adaptable, a lesson I believe is essential for anyone pursuing a career in design or any creative field.
The Importance of Team Retreats
We put significant emphasis on team cohesion through retreats, which serve as a powerful reminder of the strength of our relationships. Two major retreats this year invigorated us as we shared ideas, drank wine, and connected outside of our daily routines. These gatherings reinforce not only our commitment to each other but also our collective vision for EHD's future.
Looking Ahead: New Beginnings
As we turn the page towards 2026, the excitement for the upcoming projects is palpable. Beginning work on our guest cottage signifies a new chapter filled with creative possibilities. I’m eager to continue exploring innovative designs while maintaining the playful spirit that drives our work. The blend of learning and creative expression defines our work culture at EHD, something I deeply cherish.
Fostering Positivity in a Digital World
In closing, I want to address the impact of digital media on my mental health and the importance of a supportive community. The advent of AI comment moderation has allowed us to engage positively without the anxiety of negativity that sometimes comes with online interactions. Creating a safe, welcoming environment for my readers and myself is a priority, one I hope resonates with all of you.
Gratitude and Hopes for the Future
2025 has reinforced the notion that the quality of our relationships shapes our experiences. As we inch closer to the new year, my gratitude extends to each one of you who has joined me on this adventure. Let’s look forward to more creativity, connectivity, and perhaps a little more fun in the coming year!
