Company Background
Toro Construction has been in business since 2018. Before that, I ran another company
in the construction industry, primarily focused on flipping homes for about four or five
years.
So when people ask me how long I’ve been in business, I usually say around 10 to 12
years—without going into too much detail about the two separate companies. I just
group it all under "construction experience."
What We Specialize In
We’re more service-based than product-based. Our bread and butter is kitchens and
bathrooms—we do upwards of 150 bathrooms a year. We also specialize in basements
and attic renovations, and we handle decks, doors, and windows. We are a full-service
interior renovation company that also does additions and new construction.
We’re licensed and insured. As for bonding, it's not typically required for residential
remodeling and is usually job-specific depending on the city or town. However, all of our
license and insurance information is easily verifiable through the state of
Massachusetts, can be furnished upon request, and is included in our email signatures
as well.
Service Area
We're based in Middlesex County, but work throughout Massachusetts and selective
work in Maine and New Hampshire.
We still take jobs in Worcester County, but I’m always transparent with customers about
pricing. If you're outside our core service area, like Worcester, you may pay a bit more
due to additional travel time, gas, and vehicle wear and tear. A bathroom renovation in
Worcester may cost slightly more than the same project in Woburn—that’s just the
reality.
The Toro Difference
We like to call it "The Toro Difference." There are a few things that set us apart:
Upfront and Honest Pricing
I personally handle all estimates—at least for now. As we grow, we’re looking to
bring on a dedicated estimator. When I give a quote, I try to account for
everything the customer is asking for. Additional charges only occur when there's
something truly unforeseen, like an issue inside the walls or if a customer adds
additional work to the scope. Unfortunately, some contractors will intentionally lowball estimates just to win the job
and then hit the customer with change orders. We don’t operate that way.
Clear and Consistent Communication
We have excellent office staff—Kelly and Tiara—who do a great job
communicating schedules, updates, and changes. They help ensure customers
are always in the loop with checklists and check-ins throughout the project.
Preferred Supplier Relationships
We’ve developed strong relationships with our preferred suppliers—cabinets,
countertops, tile, and other finishes. Our customers meet directly with these
vendors in their showrooms, where they receive personalized service, insights on
trends, and help choosing products.
Because of our volume, our customers often get preferential treatment and trade
pricing. Once selections are made, we handle the pickup or delivery to the job site.
Warranties and Follow-Through
We offer a one-year labor warranty on our work. On top of that, we help facilitate
warranties on materials from our suppliers and warranty their product for one
year as well.
For example, if a faucet finish starts to peel six months after installation (which has only
happened once in 10 years), we’ll not only help you get a replacement, but we’ll also
send our plumber out to swap it at no extra charge. Many companies would charge you
for a service visit in that case—we won’t.
Skilled, Specialized Tradespeople
We don’t use general handymen. Our team includes full-time painters, tile
professionals, and finish carpenters—people who specialize in their trade. When
someone does a job day in and day out, it shows in the quality of their work.
Access to the Owner
As the owner, I stay involved. I oversee all jobs, check workmanship, and communicate directly with customers.
